Richard “Rick” Allen Holt, 68
Okeechobee – Richard Allen Holt died March 2, 2020. He was born May 1, 1951 in Fort Pierce to William Irving Holt, Jr. and Kathryn (Conrad) Holt. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and National Guard.
A lifetime resident of Okeechobee, he was a Volunteer City Fireman for many years and was an Insurance Salesman for 47 years. He was a member the Okeechobee Masonic Lodge #237 since 1980s and served as Master in 1988, District Deputy in 1997, and Secretary for 24 years. He was also a member of the Valley of Lake Worth Scottish Rite as a 33° Mason and many boards and committees for the Grand Lodge of Florida.
Mr. Holt is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Ann Holt, of Okeechobee; sons, Greg Caldwell (Debi), of Okeechobee, and Jeff Holt (Chris), of Ft. Myers; grandson, Mason Caldwell (Amy), of Melbourne; sisters, Karen Cooper, of Okeechobee, and Sharon Roberts, of Royal Palm; sisters-in-law, Norma Parker, of Charleston, West Virginia, and Jan Sigler (Pete), of Summersville, West Virginia; brother-in-law, Joe Caldwell (Stephanie), of Summersville, West Virginia; and numerous aunts and cousins.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. until services including Masonic Services at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Masonic Home of Florida. A Memorial Leaf for Rick can be made for placement at the Masonic Home by sending donations to the Okeechobee Masonic Lodge #237, PO Box 814, Okeechobee, FL 34973 or Masonic Home of Florida, 3201 1st ST NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33074.

Dear Brethren:
We are very saddened to inform you that our revered Past Grand Master, Most Worshipful John E. Karroum, Grand Master in 2018, passed away on Friday Evening, May 31, 2019, after an episode on Tuesday, May 28th during the 190th Annual Grand Communication where he was sitting Grand Master, following a short stay in the hospital.
M∴W∴ John E. Karroum was born in Damascus, Syria, on January 22, 1950, M∴W∴ Karroum received the Three Symbolic Degrees of Freemasonry in Zahle Lodge No. 1047, Chartered by The Grand Lodge of Scotland in Zahle, Lebanon, in 1977, was a Dual Member of Boynton Lodge No. 236, and a Plural Member of Apalachicola Lodge No. 76.
A Memorial Service, including Masonic Rites, will be held at Boynton Lodge No. 236, 2701 Quantum Blvd., Boynton Beach, Florida, 33426, on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at 10:00 a.m.
Most Worshipful John W. Westerman, III, Grand Master, has requested that all the Particular Lodges drape their Altars for one month in memory of our beloved Past Grand Master.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to M∴W∴ Karroum’s family. Our Fraternity has suffered a great loss with the passing of this distinguished Past Grand Master. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Florida Rainbow for Girls or the Florida DeMolay. Checks should be made out to the Masonic Charities of Florida Fund, Inc., and mailed to The Grand Lodge of Florida at 220 N Ocean Street, Jacksonville, Florida, 32202.
